Commitment to Inclusive and Equitable Education

At HolyNations International Ministries, inclusive education lies at the heart of our charitable mission. We are dedicated to advancing equitable access to both academic and vocational opportunities as a key driver of social mobility, individual empowerment, and community development. Our longstanding efforts in promoting educational equity have led to measurable impacts across multiple regions and demographic groups.

One of our core areas of work is facilitating access to further and higher education for both young people and adults. Since 2016, our targeted campaigns—such as the initiative in Scarborough, North Yorkshire—have yielded significant outcomes. These include increased enrolment rates in further and higher education and a notable reduction in teenage pregnancy among campaign participants. Our approach combines advocacy with direct support services that remove barriers to educational advancement.

To address declining interest in science among young people, we launched the "Spurring Interest in Science" initiative. This programme garnered significant attention and recognition, including a feature by BBC Radio, and successfully engaged young learners in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. We are also strong advocates of increasing participation of girls and women in STEM fields, aligning with UNESCO’s vision. We actively participate in global awareness initiatives such as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and International Education Day.

HolyNations Int’l Ministries is a vocal advocate for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). We are also deeply committed to the decolonisation of the curriculum. Our team has delivered several training programmes across the UK in collaboration with educational institutions to explore and embed decolonial practices in teaching and learning.

Our educational outreach extends beyond the UK. HolyNations Int’l Ministries has supported curriculum development projects in various sub-Saharan African countries, with a focus on delivering education tailored to the needs of displaced and marginalised populations. Our adaptable learning models ensure that education is accessible even in the most challenging contexts.

Testimonials

  • Immanuel From Janitor to Degree Student

From Janitor to Degree Student – A Testament to Hope and Support

Immanuel’s journey is a remarkable example of how faith, support, and determination can transform a life — no matter the age or past circumstances.

Originally from Ghana, Immanuel moved to the UK and worked diligently for many years in the Hygiene Services department of a local college. Despite his dedication, education seemed out of reach. Having left school over 40 years ago, he struggled with basic literacy and had never used a computer. The idea of returning to education felt overwhelming and unattainable.

Everything changed when Immanuel encountered volunteers from HolyNations International Ministries. They recognised his potential and offered him personalised support. With their guidance, he began rebuilding his foundational skills — including functional English, mathematics, and most critically, digital literacy. For the first time, Immanuel learned how to use a computer, write essays, do research, and make presentations.

With growing confidence, Immanuel enrolled in a certificate course, which led to a Higher National Diploma (HND). Today, he is in the final year of his bachelor’s degree in health and social care, currently working on his research project and preparing for graduation.

The transformation in Immanuel’s life is profound. From being unfamiliar with digital tools and academic writing, he has become a confident student and an active member of his community. He now participates in meetings, speaks publicly, and is respected for his determination and positive spirit.

Immanuel often shares how HolyNations was instrumental in his journey. After four decades away from education, he believed it was too late to start again — but with the ministry’s help, he found a second chance.

“If not for HolyNations Int’l Ministries, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” he says. “After 40 years away from education, I thought it was too late. But now, I’m doing my degree, and I believe anything is possible.”

From Transition to Transformation to Thriving in the UK Tech Sector

Gloria arrived in the UK with a strong academic background, holding a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. However, despite her qualifications, she faced significant barriers transitioning into the UK labour market. Finding employment that matched her skills proved to be a major challenge.

Her journey took a new direction when she connected with HolyNations International Ministries.

With tailored support and encouragement from HolyNations, Gloria was able to regain confidence and identify the steps needed to rebuild her career in a new country. She was supported in enrolling for a Master’s degree programme at a UK university — a crucial move that helped her deepen her expertise and gain recognition within the local academic and professional landscape.

Eventually, Gloria secured a position with the National Health Service (NHS), where she began working as a Data Analyst. In this role, she supports senior leadership by analysing complex data used for strategic decision-making at the highest levels. Her contributions are both valued and impactful.

Today, Gloria is a respected professional in the UK tech sector and a proud member of the British Computer Society — a mark of professional excellence in the industry.

Gloria’s journey reflects the heart of HolyNations International Ministries’ mission: to empower individuals at every level — from those starting fresh to skilled professionals seeking to transition and grow. Through mentorship, education, and practical support, HolyNations helps individuals integrate successfully into UK society and achieve their full potential.
